The Swanston Academic Building is the largest construction project ever undertaken by RMIT University.
The state-of- the-art educational faculty consolidates the university’s Swanston Street Precinct.
This new $220m project will add to RMIT University’s portfolio of significant architecture on its Swanston Street Campus. The building will be a major teaching and learning focus for the campus, with a range of innovative student-centred learning spaces developed around collaborative pedagogies.
With over 80 teaching spaces ranging from conversation rooms for 30 people to lecture spaces for 360, the 11 storey building will be one of the largest teaching and learning facilities in Australia.
Both MINItherm and SM Series of Air Handling Units were installed in the academic building. The range of units will help maintain a healthy indoor environment, which will benefit the building occupants.
